FIRST IMPRESSIONS.
Tall but never quite as tall as his other half, he's usually quiet and reserved - not as buoyantly "full of life" but not without his own sparks. He chain smokes, wears a variety of tattoos on his arms that seem to ebb and flow in design, always something familiar to your eyes but never quite what you thought or pictured. He can bring a chill to the room when he first enters, and often does so silent as the night.
LIFE / DEATH ALIGNED.
Life and Death have decided that all sentient beings can be categorized to align with one or the other. Is your character immortal or ageless, in some way associated with death? Have they died, have they risen or do they have a supernatural connection to death in some way? Then you're in line with Sullivan, as one of his many 'favored children', much like Zéphirin has favorites of his own.
Other themes that may fit with his side: decay, demonic energy, death, rot, ash, draining, sickness and old age. (This is subjective, so if you think your character's personality type aligns with 'death' you can feel free to assume who they are more aligned with. If you need help, feel free to ask to be 'sorted'!)
LIGHT SUBSTANCE / DARK SUBSTANCE.
Sullivan does not bleed regular blood. Instead he released a dark substance which he and Life refer to as the black goo, which can be utilized for many kinds of magic, as long as it's applied properly. It is, however, also an intense delicacy for those aligned with Death, much like how Zephir's light substance or white goo aligns with his half of the sorted beings. Effects of the goo can be mood enhancing, physical improvements and anything that may be fun to play out. However...
If Sully consumes something that would normally be Bad For Him (very WIP), the way his body heals itself is by turning all of that into a light substance (scientific term: the white sludge) and making him spit it back out. It's very ick, and it drives those aligned with Life absolutely wild (see the effects above). This is why he doesn't take probiotics.

A Longer Time Than Anyone Can Imagine Ago, a being split itself into two. The pair shaped up all of life on Earth as we know it, and they have a few stories to tell about their fuck-ups along the way. They think of themselves as Life and Death, though they're really two halves of a being that treat the world we live in as a cosmic vivarium; they can change things, remove old elements and introduce new ones, evolve and eradicate, but nature quite literally takes its course once their hands are off.
— Controls death (finality of plants and animals, shutters growth, creates and spreads sickness, induces decay, etc.).
— While Life reverses time to extend someone's life, Death adds time. If he pushes back the date of someone's death by giving them more time, they will have that period of time but no new vitality or health; they simply are promised extra time.
— They can make someone or something live indefinitely, but it's a 'both keys turn at the same time' situation.
— While Life doesn't care about people much, death finds fascination in what they create and is a little less callous with how he treats them, especially those he finds interesting.
— Can alter his body at will. Yes, yes... yes. And yes.
— Has a cat named Delphine who's a few millennia old at this point, and who he continues to extend the life of (with help from Zéphirin,) and cares for very much. The last time she went missing, the black plague happened...
— Can read death energy - if someone is sick, ill, undead or has magic that is corrosive or corruptive in some way, he can alert to that and follow it to its source.
— Yes he and Life MAY BE directly responsible for the K/T extinction, no they're not going to talk about it it's embarrassing. (And so long ago!)
— He just calls himself Sullivan. Unlike someone else with a naming pattern...
— Did they shape themselves after humans or did they decide to mold humans after their image?? I guess we'll never know, wink wonk

[ JUNE 2025 - AU MONTH ]
She stands out in the crowd of Saltburnt elite; even in black tie her tattoos give a certain air to her that some people turn up their noses at. But she never seems to mind - doesn't matter who it is trying to critique her, there is only one person whose opinion matters to her. And right now they're still in the midst of a... break from one another.
